Nowaja Derewnja ( Russian Новая Деревня , literally "New Village"; German  Alt Gertlauken , also: Neu Gertlauken , Lithuanian Senieji Gertlaukiai , from Prussian Gertlaucks ) is a settlement in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It lies on the regional road 27A-014 (ex R514 ) and belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

history

Alt Gertlauken

The Prussian name Gertlaucks means chicken field (Prussian gerto: ' chicken '). The village has belonged to Labiau County since the 19th century . The later Alt Gertlauken and then Gertlawken was first mentioned in 1402. Between 1874 and 1945 the place was Amtsdorf and gave its name to the newly established Gertlauken district , which belonged to the Labiau district in the Königsberg administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In addition to the rural community of Alt Gertlauken, the manor district of Gertlauken (forest), which was reclassified to the district of Sternberg (forest) in 1929 (from 1931: "district of Sternberg"), as well as the rural communities of Alt Kirschnabeck (1938-1946: Kirschbeck, Russian : Nowodworki, no longer exists) and Leiszen (1936–1938: Leischen, 1938–1946: Hirschdorf, Russian: Nowodworki, no longer exists).

In 1910 Alt Gertlauken had 690 inhabitants. In the 1920s there were still kilns for the production of charcoal. The village was famous for its piles. The population rose to 829 by 1933 and was still 788 in 1939. In 1945 Alt Gertlauken was conquered by the Red Army and assigned to the Russian SFSR of the Soviet Union along with the entire northern part of East Prussia .

New Gertlauken (Geroiskoje)

The Neu Gertlauken colony was founded between 1830 and 1840 and consisted of very scattered small farms. This belonged to the rural community Alt Gertlauken. In 1947 the place was classified under the name Geroiskoje as an independent place in the village Soviet Novoderewenski selski Sowet. Geroiskoje was apparently attached to Novaya Derevnia around 1980.

Novaya Derevnia

In 1947, Alt Gertlauken was renamed Novaya Derewnja . The place name exists around 70 times in Russia. At the same time the place became the seat of a village soviet. After its dissolution, Novaya Derevnia (presumably) came to the Saranski selski Sowet in 1961 . From 2008 to 2016 the place belonged to the rural municipality Saranskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district Polessk .

Novoderewenski selski Sowet 1947–1961

The village soviet Novoderewenski selski Sowet (ru.Nоводеревенский сельский Совет, Novoderewenski selski Sowet) was established in June 1947. All places of this village soviet were determined by the renaming decree of November 1947. In 1961 the village soviet was disbanded and (apparently) attached to the Saranski selski Sowet .
