Amendolara is 106 km north of Cosenza . The districts ( fractions ) of the municipality are called Colfari, Gabriele, Marina and Pietra Stoppa. Amendolara lies at an average altitude of 228  m slm. The old town center is, like most Calabrian villages, inland. A new town center has formed by the sea.

The neighboring municipalities are Albidona , Castroregio , Oriolo and Roseto Capo Spulico .
