San Lucido is an Italian city in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 6223 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

San Lucido is about 40 km west of Cosenza on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea . The neighboring communities are Falconara Albanese , Paola , Rende and San Fili .

Since 1915, San Lucido had a train station on the Paola – Cosenza cog railway, which was closed in 1987 .

Attractions

In the village there is a ruin of a medieval castle. Remains of a fortification from the Middle Ages still stand on the coast. In the local church there is an altar from the 16th century. In the parish church there is a painting from the 18th century showing the baptism of Jesus.
