Trebisacce is an Italian commune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region with 8908 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
Trebisacce is 93 km northeast of Cosenza and has a train station on the Tarent – Reggio di Calabria railway line .
The neighboring municipalities are: Albidona , Plataci and Villapiana .
Surroundings
The Broglio archaeological park is located around two kilometers west of the town center . A prehistoric settlement named after him was discovered here on the hill Broglio di Trebisacce , which has been archaeologically researched almost continuously since the 1970s . It existed from around 1700 to around 700 BC. Finds of Mycenaean ceramics show trade contacts with Mycenaean Greece from around 1400 BC. In the 13th century BC. Intensify and until at least 1100 BC. Are detectable. In addition to original Mycenaean ceramics made in Greece, many fragments of so-called Italo-Mycenaean ceramics came to light.
