Longobardi is an Italian commune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region with 2302 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The distance to the provincial capital Cosenza is 38 km. The local tradition leads the place name back to a foundation by the Lombards at the time of King Liutprand (712-744); however, this has no historical basis.

It covers an area of ​​19 km². The municipality includes the districts ( frazioni ) Ambricella, Bardano, Campolevari, Frailiti, Piro, Ranci, Rigillo, Salice, Sant'Andrea, Santa Croce, Serra Olive, Sirene, Tarifi, Terra Rossa, Vardano and the seaside resort Longobardi Marina on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The municipality is a member of the Comunità Montana dell'Appennino Paolano and of the Regione Agraria n. 9 - Montagna Litoranea di Paola .

The neighboring municipalities are Belmonte Calabro , Fiumefreddo Bruzio and Mendicino .
