Location and dates

Villapiana is located about 88 km north of Cosenza north of the Sibari plain . The neighboring municipalities are Cassano allo Ionio , Francavilla Marittima , Cerchiara di Calabria , Plataci and Trebisacce .

In the village there is a ruin of a castle from the Middle Ages. The parish church was built in the Gothic style and rebuilt in the 16th century in the Baroque style. There are still two defense towers in the center of the city.
