Dipignano is an Italian municipality in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 4319 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Dipignano is about 12 km south of Cosenza in the valley of the Crati . The neighboring communities are Carolei , Cosenza, Domanico , Cerisano , Mendicino and Paterno Calabro .

The place was founded in the Middle Ages by refugees from Cosenza. The place is known for its copper processing.

Attractions

The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is in the village. The church dates from the 15th century and has been heavily modified since then. The portal and parts of the apse are still preserved . Inside there is a marble statue of the Madonna delle Grazie from the 17th century.
