Vaccarizzo Albanese (in Arbëresh , IPA : [ ar'bəreʃ ] : Vakarici or Mbuzati ) is an Italian municipality founded by Arbëresh ( IPA : [ar'bəreʃ] ) with 1086 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Cosenza in Calabria .
The municipality of Vaccarizzo Albanese (Bashkia e Vakarici) has had a municipal partnership ( Unione Arbëria ) with four other Arbëresh municipalities in the Cosenza province: San Demetrio Corone , Santa Sofia d'Epiro , San Cosmo Albanese and San Giorgio Albanese .
Location and dates
The area of the municipality is at an altitude of 448 m above sea level and covers an area of 8 km² . Vaccarizzo Albanese is located about 73 km northeast of Cosenza . The neighboring municipalities are Acri , San Cosmo Albanese and San Giorgio Albanese . Vaccarizzo has a stop on the Cosenza – Catanzaro railway line .

Vaccarizzo Albanese was founded between 1469 and 1492 by Albanian refugees (Arbëresh).
