Spezzano della Sila is an Italian village on the slope of the Sila in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 4399 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Spezzano della Sila is about eighteen kilometers east of Cosenza on the upper reaches of the Crati River . The neighboring communities are Casali del Manco , Celico and Longobucco . The districts of Camigliatello Silano and Moccone are holiday resorts, both of which have a train station on the Pedace – San Giovanni in Fiore railway line . Today the railway is operated as a museum railway.

Attractions

The parish church dates from the 15th century. Inside there is an altarpiece from the 17th century. Next to the church of S. Francesco di Paola there is a monastery with a cloister that is well worth seeing.
