Baudement is located on the Aube in a broad plain characterized by agricultural production, 100 kilometers east of Paris .
With around 100 residents, the municipality is one of the smaller municipalities in France. Neither the birth rate nor immigration or emigration have resulted in any significant changes in the number of residents in recent decades.
history
The settlement history of the place goes back to pre-Roman times. A tumulus classified as a monument historique and the remains of a Roman road are a reminder of this era.
André de Baudement, the progenitor of the House of Baudement , founded a priory dedicated to Saint George in the village , which he made subordinate to the Saint-Quentin Abbey in Beauvais in 1122 . In the 18th century the rule was united under the neighboring village of Anglure .

- The 16th century church of Saint-Leu-de-Sens has a Romanesque facade. The altar and reredos date from the 17th century, a virgin and child from the 14th century.
economy
Agriculture is the main source of income. Grain, sugar beet and animal feed are grown on the level around Baudement. In addition to rearing ostriches, emus and rheas, cattle breeding determines livestock husbandry.
