Magenta Town Hall

Magenta is a French commune with 1,708 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the arrondissement Épernay and the canton Épernay-1 (until 2015: canton Ay ). The inhabitants are called Magentais .

geography

Magenta lies on the Marne , which forms the southwestern municipal boundary. Magenta is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Dizy in the north, Ay in the east and northeast, Épernay in the south, east and west and Hautvillers in the northwest.

history

In 1965, the municipality was formed by dividing the municipality of Dizy-Magenta .
