Fontaine-sur-Ay is about eight kilometers east-northeast of Épernay and about 25 kilometers south of Reims . Fontaine-sur-Ay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Germaine in the north and north-west, Ville-en-Selve in the north and north-east, Val de Livre in the east, Aÿ-Champagne in the south and Avenay-Val-d'Or in the west.
