Blancs-Coteaux is a French commune with 3,325 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Épernay and is the main town ( bureau centralisateur ) in the canton of Vertus-Plaine Champenoise .

history

On January 1, 2018, Blancs-Coteaux was formed as a Commune nouvelle (new municipality) from the previously independent municipalities of Gionges , Oger , Vertus and Voipreux .

Viticulture

The area is an important wine-growing area of ​​the Côte des Blancs , part of the growing area for the base wine of champagne (see also Champagne (wine-growing area) ).
