The Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim ( Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University ) is one of the locations of the Dual University of Baden-Wuerttemberg . It was founded in 1976 as a branch of the Stuttgart University of Cooperative Education with 38 students, 15 of them in technology and 23 in business. After it was founded in the economic centers of Mannheim and Stuttgart in 1974 and after the establishment of a professional academy branch in Villingen-Schwenningen in 1975, it was the second professional academy outside the metropolitan areas. The Heidenheim University of Cooperative Education has been independent since October 1, 1979. On March 1, 2009, it became part of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University.

history

The range of courses at the Heidenheim University of Cooperative Education was expanded in 1977 to include the field of social affairs. At the DHBW Heidenheim Bachelor degrees can currently be obtained in more than 20 courses and directions . The range of courses includes the fields of health, social affairs, technology and economics. Around 2400 students are enrolled at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim.

In July 2010, the Duale Hochschule Heidenheim changed space, next to the former customs office on the “Gleisharfe” a new seven-story building was built. The campus is close to the train station and the city center.

The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs decided to equate accredited bachelor degrees from vocational academies with academic bachelor degrees from universities and technical colleges. It expects an additional advantage from the new status and positioning as a Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. Since 2010, the Cooperative State University has been offering both Bachelor and Master’s courses. In accordance with the dual concept, the Master’s degree programs are organized exclusively alongside work.

Admission

The prerequisite for the course is a study contract with a partner company or a cooperating social institution. In addition, the Abitur or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification is required. The same admission requirements apply as at universities. If you have a university entrance qualification, you can take an aptitude test at the DHBW, which entitles you to study at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. Under certain conditions, particularly qualified professionals with further training as master craftsmen, technicians and business administrators have access to universities in Baden-Württemberg.
