Copa Colombia 2017

The Copa Colombia 2018 , also called Copa Águila after a sponsor , is the venue for the Colombian men's soccer cup . All teams in the Categoría Primera A and Categoría Primera B take part in the cup competition . Last year's winner is Junior . The cup competition started on February 21st and ended with the second leg of the final in Medellín on November 1st, 201.

Cup winner was Atlético Nacional for the fourth time , which prevailed in the final against Once Caldas and was the record cup winner with this title.

mode

The mode has changed compared to the previous year. The Copa Colombia will be played in three phases. Only the 16 second division teams take part in the first phase, of which four clubs qualify for the second round. In the second phase, these four clubs and the twelve clubs in the first division that will not take part in any international competition in 2018 determine eight participants in the third phase. The eight clubs that will take part in an international competition in 2018 ( Atlético Nacional , Millonarios FC , Independiente Santa Fe , Junior , Deportivo Cali , América de Cali , Jaguares de Córdoba and Independiente Medellín ) are directly qualified for the third phase . The third phase is played in the knockout system with two legs. The Copa Colombia winner is directly qualified for the Copa Libertadores 2019 . If the winner has already qualified through the league, the best team in the league's overall table not yet qualified for the Libertadores takes over the starting position.
