In contrast to the previous season , the Regionalliga was played in four preliminary round groups - South, South-West, West and North - each as a single round.

After these rounds played

• the best seven participants of the group south in the qualification for the Oberliga Süd with five of the last six of the Oberliga for promotion to the Oberliga Süd , where EV Dingolfing and SG Moosburg succeeded in qualifying; the Deggendorfer EC moved to the Oberliga Süd for the EV Pegnitz , who withdrew to the state league for financial reasons ;
• five participants of the group south-west in the qualification for the Oberliga Mitte with EV Stuttgart , for which all except EC Bad Nauheim 1b and ERC Ludwigshafen qualified;
• the best four participants of the group west in the qualification for the Oberliga Nord , for which all four qualified;
• the best five participants of the Northern group in the qualification for the Oberliga Nord, for which the two Hamburg teams and the EC Hanover qualified.

Regional league south

• The teams in first place with 7 qualified for the qualification for the Oberliga Süd .
• The other teams take part in the relegation.
