European Cup Winners' Cup 1993/94

The 1994/95 European Cup Winners 'Cup was the 35th draw of the European Football Cup Winners' Cup. 44 club teams from 43 countries took part, including defending champions Arsenal FC , 33 national cup winners and 10 defeated cup finalists (Chelsea FC, Bruges Club, Pirin Blagoevgrad, Keflavik IF, F91 Dudelange, Bangor FC, Łódzki KS, CSKA Moscow, Tatran Prešov and Fandok Babrujsk ). For the first time, Tiligul Tiraspol was a team from Moldova at the start.

DFB Cup winners Werder Bremen from Germany, ÖFB Cup winners FK Austria Wien from Austria , Cup winners Grasshopper Club Zurich from Switzerland and Cup winners FC Schaan from Liechtenstein were at the start.

Real Zaragoza won the final in the Prinzenparkstadion in Paris 2-1 after extra time against defending champions Arsenal FC, who had once again reached the final.

The top scorer was the Englishman Ian Wright from finalists Arsenal FC with 9 goals.

mode

As usual, the participants played the winner in pure cup mode with home and return matches. If there was a tie after both games, the number of goals scored away decided ( away goal rule ). If their number was also the same, extra time took place in the second leg, in which the away goals rule also applied. If there was still a tie at the end of extra time, a penalty shoot- out was carried out. The final was decided in a game on a neutral court. In the event of a tie after extra time, the winner would also have been determined in a penalty shoot-out.
