Friedrich G. Beckhaus
Friedrich Georg Beckhaus (born December 11, 1927 in Berlin ) is a German actor and voice actor .
Life
After taking acting lessons with Gustaf Gründgens in Düsseldorf , Beckhaus received theater engagements in Hamburg and Berlin. This was followed by numerous appearances in film and television, among other things Beckhaus played Karl May in acquittal for Old Shatterhand in 1965 . Besides, he was in And Jimmy went to the rainbow , The Stuff Dreams Are Made of , Everyone dies to himself and see Ambulance 7 . Beckhaus has starred in six Stahlnetz episodes: Lane 211 , In every city , On Tuesday night , The twelfth knife , The house on the sturgeon and The fifth man.
Beckhaus achieved particular popularity through his role as Atan Shubashi in the science fiction cult series Raumpatrouille - The Fantastic Adventures of the Orion Spaceship (1966) alongside Dietmar Schönherr , Eva Pflug , Claus Holm , Wolfgang Völz and Ursula Lillig . In Wolfgang Schleif's five-part TV series Civil War in Russia , he played the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky in 1967 . In 1969, in grace for Timothy Evans , Beckhaus played serial killer John Christie .
In addition, Beck House since 1967 with far more than 700 appearances in the film synchronization operates, among others, as the voice of Hector Elizondo ( Pretty Woman ), Peter Boyle ( Everybody Loves Raymond ), Andrew Robinson ( Star Trek: Deep Space Nine ), Patrick Stewart ( The Little Lord ), Robert Duvall ( Days of Thunder ) , Ken Jenkins ( Scrubs ) or the candy shop owner from the Jimmy Neutron series . He also dubbed the robot Grag in the animated series Captain Future - always in a dispute with the android Otto (spoken by Orion colleague Wolfgang Völz ). Younger listeners should know his voice from the radio plays Benjamin Blümchen and Bibi Blocksberg in the role of Baron von Onion Schreck. In the RTL II synchronization of the 1980s cult series Miami Vice , he lent his voice to Lt. Castillo , portrayed by Edward James Olmos .
In May 2019 Beckhaus was awarded the German Synchronous Award for his life's work.
