The FSV Gütersloh 2009 (full name Frauensportverein Gütersloh 2009 eV ) is a women's football club from Gütersloh . The club emerged from the women's and girls' soccer department of FC Gütersloh 2000 . The first team took over from 2009/10 to place in the 2. Bundesliga North and played in the 2012/13 season in the Bundesliga .
history
FC Gütersloh / FC Gütersloh 2000
In 1984 what was then FC Gütersloh founded a division for women's football. In 2001 the team became champions of the Federation League Westphalia and rose to the then second-class Regionalliga West . After a seventh place in the first season, the team became champions in 2003 and reached the promotion round to the Bundesliga. There, however, the Gütersloh women took last place . As third of the 2003/04 season, the club qualified for the newly introduced 2nd Bundesliga and was assigned to the northern relay.
During the 2005/06 season the team was runner-up behind VfL Wolfsburg . In the following years, the Gütersloh women stayed in the top group of the league. On the last day of the 2007/08 season , the team led 1-0 against the second team of 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam until five minutes before the final whistle . But the Brandenburg women were able to equalize, which means that Gütersloh's local rival Herford SV was promoted to the Bundesliga. In the DFB Cup , the team reached the quarter-finals for the first time, but lost there on penalties against TuS Köln rrh. out.
FSV Gütersloh 2009
In order to be able to market itself better, the department decided in spring 2009 to separate from the main association and to found its own association. At the annual general meeting of FC Gütersloh 2000, the members voted with a large majority in favor of the split. With the approval of the main club, the new club was able to continue playing in the previous divisions.
In the 2011/12 second division season , the FSV was promoted to the Bundesliga on matchday 20 . The last home game of the season on May 6, 2012, which FSV won 15-0 against bottom of the table Mellendorfer TV , saw 1,502 viewers. This was the highest number of spectators at a women's football second division match up to that point.
Despite a surprising 1-1 draw at 1. FFC Frankfurt , the Bundesliga turned out to be too strong for the Gütersloh women, who were bottom of the table in the 2012/13 Bundesliga season and promptly had to return to the 2. Bundesliga. In the eventual champions VfL Wolfsburg, the FSV lost 0:10. In 2018 he qualified for the now single-track 2nd Bundesliga. On the last match day, the Gütersloh women won 4-0 against Herford SV and benefited from the simultaneous defeat of their rival Arminia Bielefeld at VfL Wolfsburg II.
