from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1969/70 season was the 71st edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 64 teams in the top division (today's top 14 ).

The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group stage, in which eight teams played against each other in eight groups. The top four in each group made it to the knockout round. Sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals followed. In the final, which took place on May 17, 1970 at the Municipal Stadium in Toulouse , the two semi-final winners met and played for the Bouclier de Brennus . Here, put La Voulte Sportif against AS Montferrand through and won the only league title in club history.
