Franz Pschierer (* 1. July 1956 in Haunstetten ) is a German politician of the CSU . He has been a member of the Bavarian state parliament since 1994 as a directly elected member of the Kaufbeuren constituency . Pschierer is state chairman of the Mittelstands-Union and chairman of the board at MedienCampus Bayern .

He was Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs from March to November 2018 . He had been a member of the Bavarian State Government since 2008, initially as State Secretary in the Seehofer I cabinet in the Ministry of Finance and from 2013 in the Seehofer II cabinet in the Ministry of Economic Affairs ,

Life

Pschierer graduated from high school in 1976. This was followed by training as a reserve officer . He then received a scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and studied economics and social sciences at the University of Augsburg . In 1983 he passed his master's degree . From 1984 to 1986 he was in charge of the press and public relations department of the Chamber of Crafts for Swabia in Augsburg. In 1986 he became editor of the Deutsche Handwerkszeitung , from 1989 deputy editor-in-chief.

Pschierer is Catholic, married and has two children.

Franz Josef Pschierer has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 1994 . He has also been a district councilor in the Unterallgäu district and city councilor in Mindelheim since 1996 . In 2003 Pschierer took over the chairmanship of the parliamentary committee for economy, infrastructure, traffic and technology. On October 30, 2008 he became State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance ( Seehofer I cabinet ). On August 3, 2009, Pschierer became the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Bavarian State Government .

At the end of April 2013, in the course of the relatives affair, it became known in the media that Pschierer had employed his wife as an employee from 2000 to 2013, which was permissible during the period in question. Nevertheless, Pschierer reimbursed the net salary to the Free State of Bavaria.

After the state elections in Bavaria in 2013 , Pschierer moved to the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, led by Ilse Aigner , as State Secretary . For the state of Bavaria he is a representative in the radio council of Deutschlandradios .

On March 21, 2018 he was appointed Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs by Markus Söder and headed the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology until the state election on October 14, 2018 . In the following coalition government , the coalition partner Free Voters claimed the Ministry of Economics, Pschierer left the cabinet. In addition, Pschierer is currently a member of the Committee for Science and Art in the Bavarian State Parliament.

In December 2018, Franz Pschierer was elected regional chairman of the SME Union .

Honorary positions and memberships

Pschierer is President of the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association . He is also a member of the Kolping Society , the Maltese and the Catholic Educational Community .
