The 2009/10 season of the Oberliga Südwest was the 32nd season of the Football Oberliga Südwest and the second as the fifth highest division in Germany. The season began on July 31, 2010 and ended with the last game day on May 22, 2011. The championship and promotion to the regional league was secured by FC 08 Homburg tied on points and due to the better goal difference in front of FK Pirmasens .
The relegation ranks were occupied by TuS Mayen and Hassia Bingen .
The promoters were SV Gonsenheim from the Association League Southwest , the second team from Eintracht Trier and SG Bad Breisig from the Rhineland League and the second team from 1. FC Saarbrücken from the Saarland League .
Since the first team from Eintracht Trier was initially relegated from the Regionalliga West , the SG Bad Breisig received the league approval as runner-up in the Rhineland League instead of the second team from Eintracht Trier. After Eintracht Trier remained in the regional league due to numerous license withdrawals, SG Bad Breisig was accepted into the league as the 19th club due to a hardship.
The top scorer was Davit Bakhtadze from Sportfreunde Köllerbach with 24 goals.
