Soccer World Cup 2010 / Brazil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brazil was eliminated in the quarter-finals for the second time in a row against the eventual runner-up and can no longer claim to have won the title at least once on every continent where the World Cup finals took place. National coach Dunga , who was blamed for the premature end, resigned after the World Cup and was replaced by Mano Menezes .

qualification

The team qualified for the World Cup in South Africa through the qualifying games of the South American football association CONMEBOL .

All ten teams that belonged to the South American association CONMEBOL played against each other in a single group stage with a return game, with a total of 18 matches per team. The four best-placed teams qualified directly for the finals of the 2010 World Cup, with the fifth-placed team competing against the fourth-placed team from the CONCACAF qualification for a final place.
