Finals
Squad
On May 12, the preliminary roster with 30 players was named, which was reduced to 23 players on June 2 and confirmed by FIFA. Nine players were already in the 2010 World Cup squad when the USA were eliminated in the round of 16. The most experienced player in the preliminary roster was record goal scorer Landon Donovan , who has already participated in three World Cup finals and is the USA's record holder with 12 World Cup games. But he was not taken into account in the final naming of the 23-man squad.
