The place is in the Wimitzer mountains , on the slopes of the Gößberg and Veitsberg . A cadastral municipality boundary runs through the place: the western part of the place lies in the area of ​​the cadastral municipality of Sankt Urban, the eastern part of the place in the area of ​​the cadastral municipality of Liemberg.

history

The place was mentioned in 958 as Coziach , which is derived from the Slovenian kozjak (= Geißberg). In the 17th and 18th centuries, numerous poor chaste people lived here, and since then there has been a large number of people resettled.

In the first half of the 19th century, the place, which was then entirely in the Liemberg tax municipality, belonged to the Liemberg tax district . When the local parishes were formed in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, the place came to the community of Liemberg . As a result of the merger of the municipalities of Liemberg, Hardegg and Pulst , the place came to the newly created municipality of Liebenfels in 1958.

In the course of the municipal structural reform in 1973 , the southwestern part of the village was ceded by the municipality of Liebenfels to the municipality of Sankt Urban. Since then, each of the two municipalities has had a village in Göseberg .

The locality comprises the farms Valtl (house no. 3) and Fercher (house no. 4) on the north slope of Gößebergs, Zacher (house no. 6) at the edge of the friend deceleration moss , stone Bauer (Haus Nr. 13) just outside Liemberg and Lugstuber (house no. 16) southeast below the Vitusberg.
