Gehrenberg is a district of the town of Feuchtwangen in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located about 5¼ km north-northeast of the town center of Feuchtwangen on the right slope of a south-east stretching mountain tongue, which is bounded by the short valley of the Bieberbach on the right and the river valley of the Sulzach that takes it south on the left. At the foot of the village there is a stream called Mühlgraben, which runs across the Krobshausen mill to the east of the Sulzach. In the south are the Mehlfeld and Kappelfeld corridors. The district road AN 36 leads to Breitenau (2 km west) or to Krobshausen to the B 25 (1.5 km east).

history

Gehrenberg was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 15 properties with 16 teams and a communal shepherd's house. The manorial claims were distributed among the following feuchtwangischen offices:

• Feuchtwangen monastery administration office : 2 courtyards, 1 courtyard with two crews, 1 half courtyard, 3 farms;
• Monastery administrator office Sulz : 3 goods;
• Caste office Feuchtwangen : 3 little houses, 1 little house; 1 property, the dues of which went to the parish of Oberampfrach. Nothing changed in the situation until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Gehrenberg was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Breitenau . In the course of the regional reform this was incorporated into Feuchtwangen on January 1, 1972.
