Walkmühle is a district of the town of Feuchtwangen in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland is about one and a half kilometers south-southeast of the town center of Feuchtwangen, a little after its lower settlement boundary and about opposite the village of Aichenzell on the left of the Sulzach on and above a short Mühlkanal. To the north, the property with only one house number, already registered on a historical map from the 19th century, is closely connected to around a dozen, mostly commercial buildings from more recent times, which - unlike the Fulling Mill on the Aichenzeller - are already on the district marking of the core city Stand wet cheeks.

A communal road on the left side of the river leads from Feuchtwangen through the village and on to Koppenschallbach . A junction in Walkmühle reaches the right valley road via the Sulzach on the section between Aichenzell and Herrnschallbach .

history

The place was first mentioned by name on February 20, 1327 as "Rüdgersmühle".

The fulling mill was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . The Feuchtwangen District Bailiwick had the grinding and fulling mill as the landlord . Nothing in these conditions changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

With the community edict (early 19th century), the fulling mill was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Aichenzell . In the course of the regional reform this was incorporated into Feuchtwangen on January 1, 1972.
