history

Banzenweiler was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 there were 10 properties, as well as a school founded by Dean Hamberger in 1697 and a communal shepherd's house. The landlords were the Oberamt Feuchtwangen ( Stiftsverwalteramt Feuchtwangen : 6 properties; Monastery administrator office Sulz : 1 property) and the Hochstift Augsburg (2 properties). One property was a freelance of the owner family. Towards the end of the Old Kingdom, all properties were under the manorial power of the Oberamt Feuchtwangen. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

In 1806 Banzenweiler came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century), Banzenweiler was assigned to the Breitenau tax district . A little later, the rural community of Banzenweiler was formed, to which the places Bieberbach , Georgenhof , Jungshof , Krebshof , Krobshausen , Leiperzell , Oberransbach , Oberrothmühle , Poppenweiler , Unterransbach , Unterrothmühle and Weiler am See belonged. It was subject to the Feuchtwangen Regional Court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 11.736 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria (July 1, 1971) it was incorporated into Feuchtwangen.
