Handball Bundesliga 1984/85

The handball Bundesliga 1985/86 was the ninth of the single-track seasons and the total of the 20th season of the highest German division in men's handball in the history of the handball Bundesliga . The season began on September 13, 1985 and ended with the last game day on June 7, 1986.

14 teams played for the German championship. The first in the table on the last day of the match was German champions 1986. Promoted to the new season were the OSC Dortmund , the gymnastics club Frisch Auf Göppingen and the VfL Günzburg . In addition, the DHB Cup was played for the twelfth time.

For the first time since the introduction of the single-track Bundesliga, neither TV Großwallstadt nor VfL Gummersbach won the handball championship. German champions in 1986 were the team from TUSEM Essen for the first time in the club's history .
