Illens (German Illingen ) is a former municipality in the Saane district of the Swiss canton of Friborg . Before their merger with the community Rossens on January 1, 1972, she was with around a dozen inhabitants as the smallest municipality in Switzerland. The group of houses and the nearby castle ruins have belonged to the Gibloux community since 2016 .
