Isaac Teller

Isaac Teller (born February 7, 1799 in Matteawan (now Beacon ), New York , † April 30, 1868 there ) was an American politician . He represented New York State in the US House of Representatives in 1854 and 1855 . Congressman Abraham H. Schenck was his uncle.

Career

Isaac Teller was born in Matteawan just before the end of the 18th century, studied and completed his preparatory studies. He held several local offices. Politically, he was a member of the Whig Party . He was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in a by-election on November 7, 1854 in the twelfth constituency of New York to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Gilbert Dean . He retired from the after March 3, 1855 Congress of. After that he worked in agriculture. He died on April 30, 1868 in Matteawan and was then buried in the Rural Cemetery in Fishkill , Dutchess County .
