Peter H. New Year's Eve

Peter Henry Silvester (born February 17, 1807 in Kinderhook , Columbia County , New York , † November 29, 1882 in Coxsackie , Greene County , New York) was an American lawyer and politician ( Whig Party ). He was the grandson of US MP Peter Silvester .

Career

Peter Henry Silvester attended Kinderhook Academy and graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, in 1827 . He studied law , was admitted to the bar in 1830 and then started practicing in Coxsackie. New Year's Eve was elected to the 30th US Congress and re - elected to the subsequent 31st US Congress . He served in the US House of Representatives from March 4, 1847 to March 3, 1851. He then retired from public life and lived on a farm in Coxsackie until his death in 1882. He was buried in Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook, New York.
