Jeb Bradley (born October 20, 1952 in Rumford , Oxford County , Maine ) is an American politician . Between 2003 and 2007 he represented the state of New Hampshire in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Jeb Bradley studied sociology at Tufts University in Medford ( Massachusetts ) until 1974 . After living in Switzerland for a few years , he returned to the United States in 1981. Until 1997 he ran a grocery store called Evergrain Natural Foods in New Hampshire . Bradley was also involved in the painting business and real estate market.

Bradley was originally a member of the Democratic Party . In 1989 he joined the Republicans . Between 1990 and 2002 he was an MP in the New Hampshire House of Representatives . In 2002 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington in the first district of New Hampshire , where he succeeded John E. Sununu, who moved to the Senate , on January 3, 2003 . After re-election in 2004, Bradley was able to serve two terms in Congress until January 3, 2007 . He is considered a moderate Republican who supported the Iraq war . However , he rejected the energy policy of US President George W. Bush . Bradley served on the Armed Forces Committee, Veterans Affairs Committee, and Small Business Committee . In the 2006 election he was defeated by the Democrat Carol Shea-Porter .

In April 2009 Bradley was elected to the New Hampshire Senate in a by- election. He is married and lives in Wolfeboro .
