Warren F. Daniell

Warren Fisher Daniell (born June 26, 1826 in Newton Lower Falls , Middlesex County , Massachusetts , †  July 30, 1913 in Franklin , New Hampshire ) was an American politician . Between 1891 and 1893 he represented the state of New Hampshire in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Warren Daniell attended public schools in his native Massachusetts and from 1834 in Franklin, New Hampshire, where he had moved with his family. Then he began an apprenticeship with his father, who ran a paper mill. In 1852, Daniell opened his own paper mill in Waterville , Maine . In the following years he operated another factory in Pepperell , Massachusetts , which operated in this industry. After returning to Franklin, he stayed in the paper business, but was also involved in cattle breeding and banking. During the Civil War , Daniell served in the New Hampshire Militia that fought on the Union side.

Politically, Daniell was a member of the Democratic Party . Although his party was in the minority in New Hampshire, he was elected to the State's House of Representatives several times . There he sat in the years 1861 and 1862 and between 1870 and 1877. In 1872 he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Baltimore . Between 1873 and 1874, Daniell was also a member of the New Hampshire Senate . Accordingly, he was represented in both chambers of the legislature of his state at the same time during these two years.

In 1890 Daniell was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of New Hampshire , where he succeeded Republican Orren C. Moore on March 4, 1891 . Since he renounced another candidacy in the next election in 1892, Daniell could only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1893 .
