John E. Sununu

John Edward Sununu (born September 10, 1964 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American politician .

Life

His father, John H. Sununu, is the former Republican governor of New Hampshire . One of his brothers is the American politician Chris Sununu , who won the gubernatorial elections in New Hampshire on November 8, 2016. After finishing school, Sununu studied engineering and economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University . After graduating, Sununu worked in the private sector.

From January 7, 1997 to January 3, 2003, Sununu was an MP in the United States House of Representatives . His successor in office was Jeb Bradley . From January 3, 2003 to January 3, 2009, Sununu was a senator in the United States Senate . On November 4, 2008, Sununu lost his re-election as senator against the democratic politician Jeanne Shaheen . After serving as a senator, Sununu worked for the US company ConvergEx Holdings .

Sununu is married to Kitty Sununu and has three children. He lives with his family in Waterville Valley , New Hampshire and is a member of the Catholic Church.
