KNVB Cup 2008/09
The KNVB-Pokal 2008/09 was the 91st edition of the Dutch soccer cup competition. It started on August 30, 2008 with the first round, in which only amateur teams participated. From the second round, the professional teams of the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie took part.
By winning the final on penalties against Twente Enschede , SC Heerenveen was able to win the cup for the first time .
2nd round
The second round took place from September 23rd to September 25th. Participants were the 24 winners of the first round (all amateur teams), as well as two youth teams (winners of the national youth league and the national youth cup competition) and all professional teams of the first two leagues.
3rd round
The third round games took place from November 11th to November 13th.
