The women's pole vault at the 2016 European Athletics Championships was held on July 7th and 9th, 2016 in the Olympic Stadium in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .
The European champion was the Greek vice European champion from 2014 Ekaterini Stefanidi . Before the German European Championship third in 2010 she won Lisa Ryzih . Bronze went to Angelica Bengtsson from Sweden .

Record improvement
The European champion Ekaterini Stefanidi improved the existing EM record in the final on July 9th by one centimeter to 4.81 m.

qualification
July 7, 2016, 9:35 am
25 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 4.55 m. But this mark did not have to be tackled by any athlete, because after the end of the attempts over 4.45 m there were only ten athletes in the competition. The final field was filled with the next placed participants who had jumped 4.35 m without any unsuccessful attempt (highlighted in light green). In addition to the ten best jumpers, four more equally placed jumpers made it to the final on the day after next.
