List of national, regional and local biographies

This list shows general national biographies , regional biographies and local biographies according to spatial structure, whereby individual biographies can also be limited to certain periods of time . It is generally broken down according to existing regions, but in individual cases also according to historical regions (e.g. Ottoman Empire , GDR ). The list entries are in alphabetical order, with works listed under the title appearing before the works listed with the author or publisher. Works with their own article are listed in abbreviated form. In some cases (especially older) universal biographies are listed for the individual countries .
