List of stumbling blocks in Loštice
The list of stumbling blocks in Loštice lists the stumbling blocks that were laid in the town of Loštice . Stumbling blocks remind of the fate of the people who were murdered, deported , expelled or driven to suicide by the National Socialists . The Stolpersteine were designed by the Cologne artist Gunter Demnig and are usually laid by himself. They are mostly in front of the last self-chosen place of residence of the victim and are called stolpersteine in Czech , alternatively also kamy zmizelých (stones of the disappeared).
59 people of the Jewish faith were deported from Loštice in 1942, only three of them survived. On September 21, 2017, the first eight stumbling blocks were laid in the city in memory of those murdered.
