Lucky (. English for " Happy ") is a song by American pop - singer Britney Spears from her second studio album Oops! ... I did it again . It was released on July 7, 2000 as the second single from the album through Jive Records . The music video was produced by Dave Meyers . The single was awarded gold in Germany and Austria .

Music video

The video begins like a performance and Britney speaks in front of the curtain (which consists of a laughing and a sad mask): "This is a story about a girl named Lucky". Britney stands in front of her own poster. While the star wakes up, hardly worries about his own life and chases from one appointment to the next, e.g. B. Oscar win. Her perfect smile disappears into her room where she cries alone. The curtain closes.

Lucky reached the top of the charts in Austria , Germany , Sweden and Switzerland . In the US, the song reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 . The song reached the top 20 in 13 other countries. The song was commercially successful, although it did not reflect the success of the first single Oops! ... I Did It Again .
