Montecrestese is a municipality in the Italian province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola (VB) in the Piedmont region .

The municipality covers an area of ​​86  km² . The neighboring municipalities are Crevoladossola , Crodo , Masera , Premia and Santa Maria Maggiore .

Attractions

  • The parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in the village of Chiesa was built between the 16th and 17th centuries on the site of an existing church and has numerous frescoes inside. Not far from the church, above a hill, is the bell tower, the symbol of Montecrestese, which at 67 meters is the highest bell tower in the Ossola Valley.
  • The old Manlio Bridge, through which the consular road of the Simplon Pass probably ran in Roman times .
