Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten ( listen ^{? / I} ) is a municipality in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant . It is also simply called Nuenen or Nuenen ca , where ca means cum annexis ("with appendix").

Van Gogh

Nuenen owes its fame to Vincent van Gogh , who lived and worked there for some time. One of his most famous pictures, The Potato Eaters ( De Aaardappeleters ) comes from this so-called Nuenenschen (also Dutch) period .

Society of Saints Pius X.

The Society of St. Pius X. - a priestly association of Catholic traditionalists - has its Dutch priory in Gerwen .
