Bahrain took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with four athletes, two women and two men, in two sports.
Since 1984 it was the Asian state's fifth participation in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
The swimmer Dawood Youssef Mohamed Jassim carried the flag of Bahrain during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
