Polewoi ( Russian Полевой , German  Luschninken , 1938 to 1945 Friedrichsmühle , Lithuanian Lūšininkai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

Geographical location

Polewoi is located 30 kilometers east of the city of Polessk (Labiau) on the eastern border of Salessje (Mehlauken / Liebenfelde) . Regional road 27A-145 (ex A190 ) runs through the village . The nearest train station is Zalessye-Novoye on the Kaliningrad-Sovetsk railway line (Königsberg-Tilsit) .

history

The village, once called Luschninken , consisted of scattered small farms and farmsteads in the 1930s. In 1874 it was in the District Mehlauken integrated, the for loop Labiau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 398 people lived here.

On December 4, 1924, Luschninken was reclassified from the Mehlauken district to the Uszballen district (1936 to 1938: Uschballen, 1938 to 1945: Mühlenau). The population fell to 319 by 1933.

On June 3, 1938, officially confirmed on July 16, Luschninken also lost its place name in ideological defense against foreign-sounding names and was now called "Friedrichsmühle". On April 1, 1939, the Friedrichsmühle community was incorporated into the Liebenfelde community together with the Kunzenrode community (until 1938: Patilszen or Patilschen, Russian: Oruscheinoje, today no longer exists) (until 1938: Mehlauken, Russian: Salessje).

As a result of the war, Friedrichsmühle came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1950 the place was given the Russian name Novoselskoje (as Luschninken) and at the same time was assigned to the village soviet Zalessovsky selski sovet in the Bolshakovo district . Since 1965 the place belongs to the Polessk Raion . From 2008 to 2016 Polewoi belonged to the rural municipality Zalessovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.
