City of Vienna awards

The City of Vienna's prizes have been awarded annually in several categories since 1947. Currently (as of 2016) the prizes are awarded in nine categories ( music, literature, journalism, fine arts, architecture, humanities, medicine, natural science and popular education ) and are endowed with 8,000 euros each; up to a total of 96,000 euros.

The prices of the City of Vienna for Fine Arts were awarded by the year 2001 in the sub-categories "applied arts, sculpture and painting / graphic". Since 2002 they have been awarded annually without naming a category.
