The West Region is one of the eight regions of the United States that send participants to the Little League Baseball World Series , the largest youth baseball tournament. The West region has participated in this tournament since 1957 (see West Region 1957–2000 ). When the field of participants doubled in 2001, the Northwest region was replaced by the West region.

Participating States

Participants from the West region

Six teams from five countries are organized in this region:

Wyoming was also in the West Region from 2002 to 2006 , at which time Hawaii was in the Northwest Region . In 2001, New Mexico was also divided into the west, but then moved to the Southwest region .

Remarks

  1. Prior to the start of the regional tournament, the Utah State Master was disqualified for participating in an unauthorized tournament. The second-placed team was excluded from the tournament for the same reasons. In the short time no other participant could be found, so the game was played without a representative from Utah. [1]
