Saint Martin Church

Rousson ( Occitan : Rosson ) is a French commune with 4106 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitanie region . Administratively it belongs to the Arrondissement of Alès .

geography

Rousson is a banlieue about six kilometers northeast of Alès on the Avène River . In the northeast, the municipality is bounded by the Auzonnet , as the upper reaches of the Auzon are called here. Rousson is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-de-Valériscle and Les Mages in the north, Saint-Julien-de-Cassagnas in the northeast, Allègre-les-Fumades in the east, Servas and Salindres in the south, and Saint-Privat-des-Vieux in the south and south-west, Saint-Julien-les-Rosiers in the west and Saint-Florent-sur-Auzonnet in the north-west.

Route nationale 106 runs along the western edge of the municipality .
