The Scottish League Cup was played for the first time in 1946/47 . The Scottish Football League Cup, which was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League , began on September 19, 1946 and ended with the final on April 5, 1947 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . The final was played between Glasgow Rangers and FC Aberdeen . The Rangers secured the premiere title with a 4-0 win.
