Seebarn is a district of the town of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

geography

Seebarn is about seven kilometers east of Neunburg vorm Wald and south of the Eixendorfer reservoir at the foot of the 578 meter high Wachtberg.

history

Seebarn was first mentioned in a document under the name “Sewarn” in 1133, when Bishop Heinrich I of Regensburg pledged Seebarn to the St. Emmeram monastery for the purchase price of a godparent and a chalice . Around 1150 Seebarn was owned by the Emmeram monastery in Regensburg. Goods in Seebarn were given to the Waldsassen monastery by King Friedrich II in 1215 . In 1218 Seebarn had six farms, six fiefs, a tavern and church bailiwick and a pastoral care with rich income. In 1250 the Waldsassen Monastery exchanged Seebarn for Tirschenreuth, which was owned by Count Rapoto II and Heinrich I von Ortenburg . Seebarn came into the possession of the Counts of Ortenburg, who also owned Neunburg and Warburg. The dukes of Bavaria Ludwig the Strict and Heinrich XIII. (Bavaria) bought Seebarn with the Warberg estates in 1261 and incorporated it into the Neunburg district. From 1418 to 1433 the area around Seebarn suffered from attacks by the Hussites . There was a school in Seebarn as early as 1552. In 1636 the area was almost completely depopulated by the plague.

On March 23, 1913 Seebarn belonged to the parish Seebarn, consisted of 36 houses and had 178 inhabitants.

On December 31, 1990 Seebarn had 232 residents and belonged to the parish of Seebarn.

Seebarn as a film set

The area around Seebarn has become a popular location for film productions. The historic center of Seebarn was the venue for the ZDF crime series Die Protokollantin with Iris Berben and Moritz Bleibtreu in the summer of 2017, directed by Nina Grosse and Samira Radsi . Scenes from the film were also shot on a remote farm near the town. Numerous residents of Seebarn, including the local brass band, largely took on the roles of extras .

In March 2018 the series was nominated for the prize of the international TV series festival Canneseries . The series celebrated its world premiere on April 8, 2018 in the Auditorium Lumière des Palais des Festivals in Cannes . For the nomination, the jury praised the film as "high quality and exciting". The five-part series was broadcast on ZDF for the first time on October 20, 2018.

The TV broadcaster RTL already shot landscape shots and action scenes for the television drama Starfighter in August 2014 - they wanted to conquer the sky at the Eixendorfer reservoir and the reservoir bridge near Seebarn.
