Siliqua is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3706 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sud Sardegna in Sardinia . The municipality is located about 27.5 kilometers west-northwest of Cagliari at the Parco Geominerario Storico ed Ambientale della Sardegna .
history
The municipality is known for its Domus de Janas . In addition, the 13th century Castello di Acquafredda in the district of Cixerri is a special attraction.

Siliqua has a train station on the Decimomannu – Iglesias railway line . Cagliari, Iglesias and Carbonia are easy to reach by train.
About five kilometers southwest of Siliqua there is a small airfield (La tana del volo) for light aircraft with a 400 meter long runway (09/27).
